How it works
Drop your document. Each page appears as a thumbnail, with its original number. Grab one and drop it wherever you want, or use the arrows if you prefer the keyboard. The number shown stays the page’s number in the starting document: that’s what helps you keep track once you’ve already moved half the file.
Nothing changes until you click “Save”. So you can try things, go back and start again as many times as you need.
What is kept and what isn’t
Pages are copied exactly. Nothing is recompressed, nothing is redrawn: text stays text, images keep their quality, and the rearranged document weighs about the same as the original.
Internal links and the table of contents don’t follow. A bookmark that pointed to page 12 will still point to the twelfth page of the new document, which is no longer the same page.
How it differs from “extract” and “delete”
Three neighboring tools, three different needs. This one keeps all the pages and only changes their order. Extract pages builds a new document with just some of them. Delete pages removes the ones you no longer want.
If you want to both remove and reorder, do it in two passes: delete first, then rearrange.
Frequently asked questions
Are my files sent anywhere? No. You can check for yourself in thirty seconds: here is how.
Is the document’s quality affected? No. Pages are copied as they are, without being recompressed or redrawn.
Can I rearrange a document with several hundred pages? Yes, with no limit on number. The thumbnails are drawn as you go; the only real constraint is the memory of your phoneyour tabletyour computer.
What about password-protected PDFs? A PDF that opens without a password but forbids printing or copying is accepted as it is. If it needs a password to open, go through unlock a PDF first, if you know it: the document comes out intact.
Can I move pages with the keyboard? Yes. Each thumbnail has two arrows that move it one step, reachable with the Tab key.
