How it works
Drop your document, type the text to apply, and choose its color and intensity. The text is repeated continuously across the whole page, in parallel slanted lines, on top of the existing content without touching it. A single word in the middle would leave the corners bare and vanish with a simple crop. The preview shown afterwards is made from the file actually produced.
What it’s really for
A watermark doesn’t protect a document; it dates it and puts it in context. “DRAFT” stops a working version from circulating as final. “COPY” tells the copy apart from the original. The recipient’s name on a confidential file makes a leak traceable.
What the tool respects
The watermark follows each page’s orientation and scales to its size: the mark covers the same share of an A5 page as of an A3. In a document mixing portrait and landscape, each page gets its watermark in the right place.
Frequently asked questions
Is my file sent anywhere? No. You can check for yourself in thirty seconds: here is how.
Can the watermark be removed? Yes. It’s text placed on the page, not an indelible imprint.
Can I use accents? Yes, and other scripts too: Greek, Cyrillic, Central European letters, Arabic, Hebrew, Chinese, Japanese, Korean. Only emojis can’t be written: they’re removed, and the tool tells you so.
Does the content of my pages change? No, nothing is redrawn or recompressed. The document’s text stays selectable.
What about password-protected PDFs? A PDF that opens without a password but forbids printing or copying is accepted as it is. If it needs a password to open, go through unlock a PDF first, if you know it: the document comes out intact.
